For Friday afternoon there is a choice between three workshops. You can only attend two of them. Please fill in your preferences here workshops
1. Teaching European Citizenship: Project Examples and eTwinning Kits
How can we raise awareness and encourage reflection on what it is to be a European citizen? Experienced eTwinner Beate Vollmer will introduce project activities that are related to the European Year of Citizens 2013. The project activities are described in detail for pupils at different age levels (10-19) and show a variety of themes. e.g. citizen participation, multi-cultural neighbourhoods and social utopia. Detailed activity guides are offered for teachers that are interested in doing projects on the themes presented.
2. How do you do?
In this workshop the participants learn how to implement web 2.0 tools to organize introduction activities for eTwinning projects. The participants learn how to embed these internet applications into the Twinspace. With the selected tools teachers can build safe, interactive and creative introduction and communication activities.
3. Using the Web for Collaboration – Tools for European Projects
Sir Tim Berners-Lee (the inventor of the World Wide Web) called the WWW a “Read-/Write-Web” – a place where people could not only find information but also collaborate and create new content. Jöran Muuß-Merholz will introduce two tools. “Etherpad” is a simple but most effective tool for writing text – literally – jointly. “Tricider” and “We thinq” are tools to collect and discuss ideas and make decisions in a group. In this workshop we will not only collect ideas for actual projects but also test these tools in practice.
